Favorite Things: Flight of the Conchords

flightoftheconchords1Hi my name is Marilyn and I’m addicted to television. I know it’s wrong and it’s killing off my brain cells, but what’s a girl to do? Without my weekly dose of Steve Carrell and Chelsea Handler I’d end up slowly rocking back and forth in the corner, crying myself to sleep every night. Okay, perhaps it wouldn’t be that dramatic, but who knows? With the advent of DVR and online episodes I’ve fortunately been able to avoid that scenario and stay abreast of all my faves on my own schedule–which is how I stumbled upon this little nugget…Flight of the Conchords.

My new addiction is a musical comedy series on HBO featuring a couple of New Zealanders who start a band. The writing is riduculous funny and the concept is event better–a mix of blunt, sarcastic humor witch random, catchy tunes about rapping hippos and business socks. Just go with me on this one…

If you missed the first season, check out clips here. It’ll give you a nice preview for the second season which starts January 18th!flightoftheconchords

I LOVE the Flight of the Conchords. I can’t wait for Season 2 of the show to begin. I actually saw Jemaine in Downtown Los Angeles back in the summer during our monthly Art Walk. I wanted to say hi, but thought that would be kind of lame, so I kept on walking. He was standing on a street corner holding a skateboard with a look on his face like someone had kept him waiting for a while.

Anyway, random story. But love these guys. Can’t wait for the new season and I’d love to catch them live!
