Wish List: Groundswell
December 18, 2008
One of the top things on my list this year for the holidays is the book Groundswell by Charlene Li and Josh Bernoff.
The book, according to the Groundswell Web site is “by two Forrester analysts with practical, data-based strategies for companies that want to harness the power of social technologies like blogs, social networks, and YouTube. Featuring 25 full case studies, a complete road map for social strategy, and data from around the world.” Yumm!
Also, check out the Groundswell blog for some great info as well.

I have been wanting to read the book for some time, so I can’t wait to get started. Have you read Groundswell? Are there other books I should be looking into for some holiday reading? Shout out in the comments!

Groundswell is an awesome book. One of the best on social media, in my opinion. It’s fun reading the case studies because you can actually see marketing theories at work.
On my wishlist is “Outliers,” Malcolm Gladwell’s new book. Blink and the Tipping Point were awesome… I have high hopes for this one.
Happy Holidays!

Andy,
I have heard a lot about “Outliers” and it definitely seems like a must read! I have read Blink, so hopefully Outliers will be as insightful! Thanks for commenting!

I have been wanting to read Groundswell since it first came out, and it magically appeared on my desk this morning. (I’m not even kidding!) I can’t wait to read it on the plane tonight.
As for other book suggestions, I recently read A Lady, First by Letitia Baldridge. It’s a great autobiography that gives a lot of historical insight into public relations and communications. Also, Made to Stick by Chip and Dan Heath was a great follow up to Malcolm Goldwell’s The Tipping Point. Both are must-reads if you’re interested in any of the marketing fields (PR, advertising, social media).
Take care!
